Phil's All Embracing Bhutan Slide Show
Scenes from Bumthang
The second temple that we visited was Kujey Temple, best known as a place where
Guru Rinpoche meditated and left an impression of his body in a rock.
|
The initial section of Kujey temple was built in 1652 and was expanded in 1900 by the
first King of Bhutan.
|
|
For some reason we couldn't enter through the door of the temple but had to climb over
the wall on a ladder. The structure on the farthest right contained the cave where Guru
Rinpoche's form was imprinted into a rock.
