Scenes from Bumthang

The second temple that we visited was Kujey Temple, best known as a place where Guru Rinpoche meditated and left an impression of his body in a rock.

The initial section of Kujey temple was built in 1652 and was expanded in 1900 by the first King of Bhutan.

For some reason we couldn't enter through the door of the temple but had to climb over the wall on a ladder. The structure on the farthest right contained the cave where Guru Rinpoche's form was imprinted into a rock.
