Scenes from Mirik, India
While we were leaving the monastery after meeting Kalu Rinpoche, I heard a big noise coming out of one of the rooms. Peeking my head into the room, I walked into a scene reminiscent of the movie The Cup, where a bunch of monks crazy for the World Cup of soccer rent a satellite dish. Only this time it is the World Cup of cricket. |

Cricket fever was running so high today that the monks were out playing a pickup game with our guide, who was the 'bowler' (cricket analogy to the pitcher in baseball). |
