Our first day ended by walking from the Paro Dzong into "downtown" Paro via this covered bridge covered with prayer flags. |

On our next excursion on the next day, we encountered the first of many prayer flag fields in Bhutan. Bhutan is noted for its unique use of vertical prayer flags. Verticality is emphasized so that the prayers on the flags can reach the heavens. Prayer flags are tipped with a variety of items, such as swords, geltsens and faces of deities. |
