One of my important stops in Bombay was to pay my respects to the Indian Advaita Vedanta teacher Ramesh Balzekar. It
was a book of his, Consciousness Speaks, that had an enormous effect on my spritual process, and a gift of a teacher at
just the right time.
Ramesh, a former bank vice-president, was a long time devotee of the Avaitic sage, Nisargadatta Maharaj, most famous for
his book, I Am That. His daily satsangs are in his home, are frequented by Indians and westerners. His English is superb, and
he knows how to work with the western mindset.
