Phil's Mondo India Slide Show
Sights of Ganeshpuri

This is the the temple that is dedicated as the samdahi site of Bagwhan Nityananda, visited by masses of people. I was there on a quiet day, and unfortunately, as in most temples, pictures are forbidden. Otherwise you could have seen the lifesize brass statue of Nityananda and umbrella, a very impressive sculpture.

I medidated for a good amount of time in the temple, and when I left, the guy facing the camera kept following, fascinated by western boy.

Downtown Ganeshpuri is thick with temples dedicated to various living and deceased masters, and there are all sort of chanting and other events going on at any one time, which adds to the joyful atmosphere of this place. If you're ever in Bombay, it's worth coming out to see - I made it all the way there and back without a guide or any help, my first total solo in India (by this time, I was managing small Hindi sentences, soon to be useless in Southern India).
